8.24.06 - New album in final stages!
The seventh full length release from the Gully Dwarves, entitled Pinwheel, is almost done!
Recording is complete and all that needs to be done is some touch up work, final mixing,
and jewel case design.
The album began as an experiment to create a piece of work entirely with acoustic instruments. I was seeking something of an artistic departure after closing the "elemental quadrology" of the previous four albums. There is a lot of acoustic guitar and piano in there, including some banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and a mixed bag of percussion toys (no drum set can be heard anywhere on it!). In the end, I broke my rule and threw in some electric stuff, but it is still very "acousticy." I even carted all my recording gear down to Kurt's place in Indiana to capture some of the most incomparable guitartistry ever encoded to a hard drive.
